Oxfordshire 500 is based on the idea that a group of members (who are anonymous to each other) pay a very small amount of money each month that collectively turns into a small donation to a local person, group or cause in the county.    It provides a very targeted £500 gift each month that could make a lot of difference to a family or community group that is struggling in some way.   The person or people getting the award are nominated and voted on by the members of Oxfordshire 500 who are also monthly contributors. 

Since November 2021 Oxfordshire 500 has given monthly gifts of at least £500.  Please look at past donations on the History page.

We have given two donations in June.  The first to a single mother who is fleeing domestic violence.   She has two children under 5, is suffering from PTSD and is trying to furnish their accommodation.  At the moment she shares a single bed with her youngest.  The second donation went to a small charity called Cornermen which focuses on male mental health and suicide prevention.
