Oxfordshire 500 is based on the idea that a group of members (who are anonymous to each other) pay a very small amount of money each month that collectively turns into a small donation to a local person, group or cause in the county.    It provides a very targeted £500 gift each month that could make a lot of difference to a family or community group that is struggling in some way.   The person or people getting the award are nominated and voted on by the members of Oxfordshire 500 who are also monthly contributors.

Since November 2021 Oxfordshire 500 has given monthly gifts of at least £500 (over £35,000 in total).  Please look at past donations on the History page.

We have given two donations of £500 in April.  The first to a family, nominated by Flexicare, who have a severely disabled 9 year old child with a rare genetic condition (Wiedemann-Steiner syndrome) who are trying raise funds to buy a specialist tricycle for him and secondly to an individual who has been living on the streets but has now, with support from Oxfordshire Homeless, found an unfurnished flat which he needs to make into a home for himself and his son.
